Anyone who knows me knows that I’m not simply driven by dedication to my craft, I operate on faith and I take the time to celebrate my wins. As the founder of Creative Studios Limited, I recently found myself in the luxurious halls of the Kigali Convention Centre, in Rwanda. Participating in the TIME100 Summit and Impact Awards Africa. The event was not only a celebration of global and regional leaders, influencers, and visionaries but a unique opportunity to connect with the esteemed members of the global TIME100 community and be inspired.
During the event I was able to listen to numerous distinguished speakers such as the first female elected African Head of State, H.E. Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somaliland, Madam Dr. Edna Adan Ismail, and the talented Zimbabwean-American actress Danai Jekesai Gurira, known for her iconic roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, were a source of deep inspiration. Their passionate discussions fuelled my own determination and pursuit for greatness.
It was so inspiring to hear how each of these visionaries continue to influence the communities around them using their God-given talents, passions and crafts; how their personal experience have crafted what they are doing today in changing the world for the better.
While in Rwanda I also could not help it but admire how befitting it was to have this iconic and prestigious event hosted in this small country, that has fast been changing and improving for the best, with vision, before our eyes, despite the horrid challenges it went through some years ago.
In my world of interior design, I ride myself on creating environments that foster joy, community, and a sense of celebration. Each project at Creative Studios Limited is approached with the goal of not just designing spaces but crafting experiences that resonate with the essence of our clients and uplift the spirits of those who inhabit them. The profound insights gained from the TIME 100 Summit act as a compass, reinforcing the importance of purposeful design that goes beyond aesthetics.
The spirited discussions on building a better future, aligns with the belief that I hold dear, where thoughtful design has the power to shape experiences and contribute to a brighter world.
And as we approach the festive season, with Christmas just around the corner, reflecting on this experience reminds me to have faith in possibilities and to have a commitment of positive impact that echoes the values we hold at Creative Studios Limited. The TIME 100 Summit and Impact Awards Africa inspired me, on a personal level, to pursue a higher vision for Creative Limited Studios and that is what I wish for you this season whatever industry you happen to be a part of.
